City Time Standards
Mood:  happy
Topic: Times & Records
  • City Time Standard chart - (xls) - (PDF)
  • NPD2007 Time Standard file - (std) - 15/18 set to actual City times: tag CTY*
  • NPD2000 Original Time Standard - (ZIP) - 15/18 set to "99.59" City times: tag CTY
  • NOTE #1 - There is some confusion about the meaning of the CITY times. The conflict comes from the fact that all 15/18 swimmers are invited to swim at City on Friday night. The 15/18 are then tiered into T1 and T2 divisions based upon their qualifying times. All other age groups must meet their City qualifying times, and swim on Saturday. Here is the "Time Standard" reflecting the NPDSC City qualifying times.  The times are only defined for the Individual events, and have not changed since 2000, except for the newly added 15/18 50yd freestyle.
NOTE #2 - In the original NPD2000.STD standard, all the 15/18 Individual times were artificially set high to "99.59" so all 15/18 swimmers will be shown as "Going to City"... with the tag CTY. You might also have this Time Standard file as NPDSCCTY.STD, with the tag CTY, but it too might not have the 15/18 true times...

    NOTE #3:
In the new NPD2007.ST2 standard, ALL qualifying times are true, including the 15/18 Individual times. Therefore this file may be used for creating true local team performance reports... with the tag CTY*.

    NOTE #4:
NPDSC Conversion Factors for meters/yards are based upon the NPDSC 25yd pool Time Standards.
for 20 yard pools = divide by 1.300
for 25 meter pool = multiple by 1.11

    NOTE #5:
All current standards are updated in the new templates for Meet Manager.

    Internet Connection Speed Test
    Now Playing: phil
    Topic: Hy-Tek Updates

Here is a download & upload speed test.  This info is handy when trying to determine how long it will take to download a Hy-Tek 10MB update.  A typical DSL or Cable broadband connection tested at 2500kbps (2.5mbps) will download 10megs in about 30-45 secs.
Just click on the testing icon, and then select a server.

Test your Internet connection speed at Speedtest.net - or - Speakeasy Speed Test

    Hy-Tek Software Updates & Upgrades
    Now Playing: Phil
    Topic: Hy-Tek Updates
Here is the information & links for software updates and upgrades for both Team Manager 4.0 and Meet Manager 2.0 Updates...
Both TM 4.0 and MM 2.0 now support their own Check for Updates menu commands. Just click on the menu command and follow the directions.
Of course, the team computer must be connected to the Internet for this command and download to work.

Here are 2 online access tests. If your computer fails to display either website test, you will not be able to use the Check for Updates feature, and must manually download the updates.

The ZIP update files may be manually downloaded by any computer, and then manually copied & installed on the team computer. These "updates" are from 3meg to 10meg in size.
These ZIP files may be manually downloaded directly from the Hy-Tek download webpage. After they are manually downloaded and saved to your local hard disk, do not UnZip them - leave them alone... Team Manager and Meet Manager will handle them directly as ZIP files.
For Manual Updates: / File / Install Update / (follow directions)

This is a special area setup to share information, files, and instructions with those people assigned to run the Meet Manager computer and the Timing Console at the Champs (Classic & City) meets.
Here are some collections of files, some have not been edited, structured, or modified. They are here for ongoing reference and hopefully will get to a structured manner for future years.
Any comments, suggestions, or discussions can be entered as "comments". (For the DOC files, just change the .pdf to .doc)

    Team Manager Events Template
    Topic: Templates & Files
These are the 2007 Team Manager (dual meet) Events files.

The following files are each in the Team Manager File Import Meet Events format.  They are each about 10k in size.
There are only two versions required - 25 meter and 25 yard.
As it turns out, there is no "pool lanes" information carried in the Meet Events file, so you only need to choose between Yards and Meters for the meet you are attending. Also, the 20yd configurations are no longer used by those pools, as they pretend they are 25yd pools.
Download the file and open it via Team Manager File Import Meet Events.
When you view your list of Meets,
you may have to change your filter selections at the top
from Yards to "blank" and from 25 to "blank" to see ALL your new meets.

You can then edit the Meet Template to reflect your filters,
along with setting the maximum number of events, and other configured settings.

    Meet Manager database templates
    Now Playing: Phil
    Topic: Templates & Files
These are the 2007 - 76 event Meet Manager (dual meet) templates. The optional 2A/2B relay events are also available.

The following templates are each in the Meet Manager 2.0 File Backup format, and may be used with the corresponding Meet Manager 2.0 File Restore command.  They are each about 100k in size.

There are two versions available for each pool configuration - Manual Seeding and Auto Seeding.
Please note that the 20yd pool templates are no longer used, only 25yd or 25meter.

Download the template for your specific pool, and open it via Meet Manager 2.0 File Restore.
Careful on the File Restore options to not accidently overlay & replace an already existing meet database.

    Installing TM/MM on Microsoft Vista
    Now Playing: Phil
    Topic: Hy-Tek Updates

Here is a note from Hy-Tek support...
    ----
The biggest issue can be a new install of TM or MM on Vista.  Back in September of 2006 we changed the installer software that we use to install both TM and MM.  Our new and current installer works just fine with Vista.  The old installer doesn't.

The easy way to tell which you have is to look at the files on your
installation CD.  If you have only 2 files, you have the new installer.  If you have a bunch - about 14 or 15, you have the old installer.

In that circumstance we highly recommend ordering a replacement CD ($10 + Shipping & Handling) from our sales office (866-456-5111).

    Thanks,
    Bob Matlack,
    Director of Technical Support
